Product passport and Asset Administration Shell from your existing data.

Regulation requires machine-readable product information. We generate it from your classified data – maintained once, used many times.

Why now

The deadlines are set.

The battery passport marks the start of the Digital Product Passport obligation, and more product groups will follow. At the same time, the new EU Machinery Regulation allows fully digital instructions for use. If you structure your product data today, you can meet several obligations tomorrow from a single source.

Discuss the battery passport →
  • 20 January 2027EU Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 applies – fully digital instructions for use become possible.
  • 18 February 2027The Digital Product Passport starts with the battery passport.
  • ThereafterFurther product groups follow step by step; the Packaging Regulation (PPWR) and the circular economy require reliable information on materials and recyclability.
Life cycle from raw material to recycling in the Digital Product Passport
Our approach

One data model for the entire life cycle.

From raw material through product and packaging to end of life: we bring scattered information together into a consistent, unambiguously described product data model.

  • DPP 4.0
  • ECLASS
  • IDTA submodels
  • VDI 2770
  • LifeCycle
  • PCF
In four steps

From your data to the product passport.

01

Assessment

Which data is available, and where? We assess quality and gaps – with a clear report.

02

Classify & enrich

Assign ECLASS classes and properties, add missing values – via metaparts where useful.

03

Populate submodels

Technical data, documents according to VDI 2770, sustainability: Class.Room brings the data together.

04

Generate AAS & passport

Templates turn the data into an Asset Administration Shell per product – multilingual and version-safe.

Asset Administration Shell (AAS)

The digital twin with ECLASS semantics.

The Asset Administration Shell combines standardised submodels from the IDTA – more than 70 are available. Each has its own data requirements, which in a company come from different systems:

  • Technical data with classification and properties according to ECLASS, IEC CDD, UNSPSC
  • Product documents classified according to VDI 2770
  • Environmental and sustainability aspects

Our focus is on AAS for manufacturers and distributors; generating AAS from the user’s perspective (e.g. mechanical engineering) and for configurable products is also possible.

Example: even gummy bears have a digital twin

From the physical product (sensors, nameplate, documents, CAD, ERP, service) via the submodels identification/nameplate, technical data, documentation, condition monitoring, maintenance and service, and sustainability/CO₂/DPP with ECLASS semantics to the digital twin (AAS)
From the physical product via submodels with ECLASS semantics to the digital twin (AAS).
“A digital twin is only ever as good as the data that flows into it from below.”Frank Scherenschlich, Managing Director, Class.Ing
